Trekking poles help reduce muscle soreness

A study has been done at Northumbria University which shows that hiking with trekking poles helps maintain muscle function and significantly reduces muscle soreness in the days following a hike.

The study involved the splitting of 37 physically active men and women into two groups of equal fitness. The groups were then asked to hike up and down Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales.
