Suzanne Howard
Sue has been involved with the Bunbury Netball Association for many years; as a player, coach, committee member umpire and recently as President.
Sue is a local Bunbury girl and has been instrumental in making sure that Netball in the South West continues to grow by her involvement in a number of areas ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential in this sport. She worked at the South West Netball Region as the Regional Development Officer and now is employed by the Bunbury Catholic College where she dedicates a large amount of her time with the Marist Touring Team as a player and now as a mentor. She has also coached a Marist netball team for the last 3 years. Sue has been the co-ordinator for the High Schools Cup for the last 5 years ensuring that all high schools across the South West participate and this involves endless hours of fixturing and coordination on the day to ensure the event runs smoothly.
Sue was instrumental in getting netball started in Dalyellup when her middle daughter was attending the Dalyellup Primary School and her youngest daughter is still attending Dalyellup College. She was the ‘go to’ person for the Dalyellup area and today Dalyellup have a thriving netball club thanks to her.
Sue has been involved with the Bunbury Netball Association as a committee member for the last 5 years the last 2 years as the President of the Association. The Bunbury Netball Association and fellow Board and Committee members are proud to have such a vibrant ‘go getting’ lady at the helm. Not only is she helpful, but takes her position with a great deal of professionalism ensuring that everything runs on an even keel. Her Saturdays start at 8am, where she ensures she is ready to organise the Net Set Go Program that has been introduced this year at the Association, from there she coaches her youngest daughters Sub Junior team at 10.30am, then always puts her hand up to umpire the afternoon fixtures, this while still attending to the many queries from our members on a weekly basis. She will be representing Bunbury as a coach for the U/15 Representative team in Perth this June long weekend as well as playing for the Bunbury Open team over the weekend, this together with taking on the responsibility of ensuring that 80 girls are looked after safely is a fantastic effort.
The Bunbury Netball Association would like to thank and acknowledge Sue for her outstanding contribution to netball in the South West and is in awe of someone who juggles a family and full time work while devoting so much time to a voluntary position.
