Six selected for Student Futures Package
Six students from various Western Australian universities will be powering their way up the sport and recreation career pathway after being named successful applicants under the Career Pathways Program.

Already studying sport and recreation-related courses, the students will be provided with opportunities to broaden their knowledge.
Over the next six months, they will receive:
- three professional development workshops (including career development, overview of WA sport and recreations industry and working with volunteers);
- attendance at industry networking events; and
- assistance to complete industry training specific to their individual development needs.
Students will also be required to undertake a volunteer project for at least 20 hours within the sport and recreation industry. Applications for the 2011 Semester 2 intake of Student Futures will be open in approximately April 2011.
Career Pathways Program
The Sport and Recreation Career Pathways Program gives participants an increased understanding of the industry and develops skills that will increase their capacity to work within the sport and recreation industry. Participants are selected into the program through an application process.
