2011 marks the 10th anniversary of the International Year of Volunteering (IYV+10). Read on to find out how sport and active recreation organisations can use the occasion to say thank you to a volunteer.

A celebratory afternoon tea will be held at Government House on Thank a Volunteer Day, 5 December 2010, to launch IYV+10.
The Department of Sport and Recreation and the Department for Communities will be seizing this timely opportunity to encourage sport and active recreation organisations to nominate a volunteer to attend the event.
Nominate a volunteer now!
Simply complete the Nomination Form, and return it to the Department of Sport and Recreation by Friday 19 November 2010.
Your nominee should be a person who has provided significant or outstanding services to volunteering in your community.
Nominations are limited to 100 places, so get in quick and make sure your volunteer gets the recognition they deserve.
Successful nominees will receive a certificate of recognition.
