“We had a number of existing and new staff who were riding to work, however there was no safe area for them to store their bikes, out of the Albany weather,” said DSR Manager Great Southern Samantha Stevens.

“So rather than allowing these factors to discourage staff from being physically active, we took the opportunity to install a bike storage area and encourage a healthier, happier workplace and community.

“We’re very pleased with the result; many people have commented on the terrific new look and our staff, Sports House clients and visitors will now be able to safely store their bikes when they come to DSR.”

Research shows that healthy, active employees have more energy, greater morale, improved job satisfaction and a better quality of life, while healthy, active organisations gain from improved productivity, reduced staff turnover, stronger employer/employee relationships and reduced absenteeism.
