Dimensions for Polocrosse

Polocrosse is a combination of polo, lacrosse and netball. It is played on horseback. Each rider uses a cane stick ─ made up of a polo stick shaft to which a squash racquet-type head with a loose twisted-thread net is attached ─ in which the ball is carried.

The object of the game is to throw a rubber ball through the goal, while the opponents defend their goal. There are six players to a team, only three on the field at one time. An area of approximately one hectare is required.

Field dimensions

The field is 146.5m long and 55m wide, with goal posts 2.5m apart at each end and 3m high. The penalty line is 27.5m from each end and extends the width of the field. The penalty line encloses the goal-scoring area. Directly in front of each goal there is a semi-circle of 10m radius, and the ball must be thrown at goal from outside this semi-circle, and within the goal-scoring area.

From the side lines to the spectators, there must be a clearance area of 5m. At the ends of the field the minimum clearance area is 20m. Between two fields there must be a clearance of 10m.
