Perth Rectangular Stadium (Perth Oval)
Development of a rectangular stadium in Western Australia.
The introduction of Perth Oval as a purpose built rectangular stadium has provided the State with a solution to addressing the need of a stadium for rectangular sports, whilst still retaining the cultural sporting significance of this site.

Stage 1 redevelopment
The $95.14m Stage 1 redevelopment of the facility will consist of a covered eastern grandstand complete with new food, beverage and toilet facilities, a 250-seat barbecue terrace and seating for approximately 420 patrons in open corporate boxes.
A new uncovered permanent southern stand, two large video replay boards, a new whole-of-stadium PA system, CCTV surveillance system and new pitch lighting will also be included. A new playing surface will be installed between July and October 2013.
At the same time, seating will be installed in the northern bowl area, providing a higher level of comfort for spectators.
BGC has been awarded the main construction contract and construction will commence on 2 July 2012 after the last home game of the Western Force’s 2012 Super Rugby season.
The stadium will remain in operation during the 2012–13 A-League season, however spectator capacity will be reduced due to the construction of the new stands. In October 2012 spectator capacity will be approximately 9,500 and this will increase to 10,500 in December 2012 in line with the completion of the southern stand.
Completion of the eastern stand is expected in March 2013. Capacity at the completion of the Stage 1 redevelopment will be approximately 20,500.
