Perth African Nations Cup venue announced

The Perth African Nations Cup Committee have announced that the 2011 football tournament will be held at Sutherlands Park Soccer Club on Gay Street in Huntingdale.

23 December 2010

The PAN Cup tournament is Perth's most followed Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) community sporting event and in 2011 it is set to run across three weekends starting 15 January at 11am. The final will be held on Sunday 30 January.

Gordon Duus, Inclusive Development Officer at Football West said, "It is because of the ideals promoted by this program and because this is an obvious opportunity to engage with many hundreds of recent arrivals and new Australians in a fun and social forum, that Football West has engaged with it as a committed partner. I attended the 2010 tournament in Maylands and was overwhelmed by the colours, music, buzz and atmosphere."

The event is free to all to attend and the club canteen will be open across the entire tournament with halal food on offer.

Football West who runs the world game in Western Australian is proud to present this program in partnership with the PAN Cup Committee. Support for the program also comes from the WA Department of Sport and Recreation which seeks people of all backgrounds to have recreationally and socially active lifestyles and Communicare Inc. which seeks to build the community through various programs and initiatives.
