Opportunity of Paralympic proportions

A wonderful opportunity exists for athletes with intellectual disabilities to compete at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Athletes with intellectual disabilities have been reintroduced in the sports of athletics, swimming, rowing and table tennis.

The event schedule is as follows:

  • Track and field – 1500m (male & female), shot put (m&f), long jump (m&f)
  • Swimming (for World Championships and likely to be same events for London) – 200m freestyle (m&f), 100m back stroke (m&f), 100m breaststroke (m&f)
  • Rowing – events to be confirmed, likely to be a coxed ID4 crew as per World Championships
  • Table tennis – singles (m&f)
