About CSRR
A first of a kind, CSRR is a partnership of Curtin University and the Department of Sport and Recreation WA (DSR). The partnership is at the forefront of explorative and applied research in sport and recreation. From climate change to club culture; technology to workplace health; and public open space to landscape planning, CSRR is about initiating and translating research into practical, usable outcomes to guide government and industry decision making and practice.
CSRR operates by drawing together multi-discipline teams to undertake research that informs decision makers. One such research cluster has evolved around open space (parkland) used for sport and/or recreation. Referred to as the ‘Parklands Pavilion’, this cluster of senior and early career academics is interested in hearing from potential PhD scholarship applicants who believe their expertise could contribute to sport and recreation focused projects related to the following parklands aspects:
•Active Open Space planning/design/activation/management.
•Coast and Marine Shore usage/planning/design/management.
•Local government strategies/better practice/standards.
•Children’s play.
