Northern Regions Recreation Conference "Gaining the Edge" will be the theme of the 2009 conference to be held on 26 May at the Cable Beach Club in Broome.

While the conference – a joint effort of DSR's Pilbara, Kimberley and Gascoyne offices – has a recreation theme, discussions will be relevant to anyone living or working in Northern WA.

The Northern Regions Recreation Conference has been running for almost 20 years to address issues specific to the Northern regions and provide a professional development and networking opportunity for all sorts of people, ranging from local government and sport and recreation personnel, to community members, volunteers and representatives from government departments.

Anyone interested in issues affecting Northern WA now and in the future is encouraged to attend, especially those who, as this year's theme suggests, want to gain the edge by broadening their knowledge and meeting others in their region.

Those living and working in the Northern regions of our state should not miss out on such a great professional development opportunity that was close to home and relevant to their regions.

To register for the conference, visit DSR's brand new website at www.dsr.wa.gov.au or contact your nearest DSR regional office: Pilbara 9182 2100, Kimberley 9166 4900 or Gascoyne 9941 0900.
