Governance for Sport and Recreation Boards course 6pm to 9 pm Tuesday 17, 24, 31 July and 7 August 2018. The Governance for Sport and Recreation Boards course is designed to give new directors an understanding of governance principles that align with best practice in the sector. Program Session 1 Director and board: roles and responsibilities Introduces the roles of the board and directors of sporting organisations. Session 2 Financial oversight Familiarise directors with their duties as they relate to key financial concepts and statements. Session 3 Strategy and risk Introduces directors to the board’s role in strategy and risk. Session 4 Board matters Gives directors further experience in strategy and risk oversight. Who’s eligible New directors (less than 3 years experience) serving on State Sporting Association or Peak Body boards or committees in the sport and recreation industry.
