The CEOs got to meet with Sport and Recreation Minister Terry Waldron MLA and the department’s Director General Ron Alexander at the same time.

Topics at this year’s Minister’s Breakfast ranged from the future impacts of climate change to the issues of public open space provision and design in the face of increased density.

The CEOs took the opportunity to share their concerns, information and successful strategies with each other. Where necessary, DSR specialist staff provided information on key initiatives.

Local government is a key stakeholder in the provision of sport and recreation services in Western Australia. The Minister’s Breakfasts are an example of State and local government collaboration and provide the Minister with a valuable sounding board within this partnership.
