Multi-international, national and state championship winning coaching consultant Jon Fletcher will present the two sessions on 20 and 21 June, and all coaches are invited.

Jon is an experienced netball coach having coached the Hunter Jaegers in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy, as well as four states and territories at over 20 national championships. He is currently the head coach of WA's Australian Netball League team.

The Department of Sport and Recreation Regional Manager, Richard Malacari said workshops like this were valuable for ALL coaches.

“While he has made his name in netball, Jon Fletcher’s messages and philosophy can be applied to all sports,” Mr Malacari said.

“Coaches play such an invaluable role in sport, and workshops like this are important to a coach’s development.”

The first session will be a presentation style event while the second gives coaches the chance to see Jon in action with the Mid West Tigers and Mid West Gascoyne Netball Region ‘Tall Timbers’ Squad.

Leanne Fiorenza, Smarter than Smoking Regional Development Officer for the Mid West Gascoyne Netball Region, said it would be a great opportunity for the girls in these squads to get some tips off such an experienced coach.

For more information regarding the workshops please contact DSR on 9956 2100 or email simon.barras@dsr.wa.gov.au.  Registrations close on Friday 15 June 2012.
