Junior Sport Development Days
School sport plays a vital role in getting children physically active, providing a foundation for a healthy lifestyle and setting them up for lifelong involvement in sport.
So the Department of Sport and Recreation in conjunction with the Active After-school Communities program hosts Junior Sport Development Days for all schools wanting to promote physical activity and education.
Teachers can gain some great new ideas on how to deliver sport to students and make their physical education lessons more exciting and inviting.
Junior sport development days:
- Up-skill teachers in a variety of sport and recreation activities.
- Provide networking opportunities.
- Help schools develop links with State Sporting Associations and other sport and recreation providers.
- Allow teachers to share information and knowledge with each other.
