Lotterywest Trails Grants

The Department and Lotterywest partner to deliver trails grants to assist in developing trails in Western Australia.

Grants are open throughout the year.
 

Grant categories

  • Planning a trail
  • Constructing or upgrading a trail
  • Promoting a trail.

Trail maintenance is not eligible under this scheme.

Grant amounts

Grants are limited to $100,000. Applications of more than $25,000 generally require a contribution from applicants and/or other sources.

 

 

Apply for a grant

There are three steps to apply for a trails grant:

  1. Contact the Department to discuss your proposed application.
  2. Submit the technical details for your application. There are three different types of grants you can choose to apply for. Please submit only one:
    1. Planning a trail
    2. Constructing or upgrading a trail
    3. Promoting a trail
  3. Submit the official application through Lotterywest.

Consultation

Applicants are required to discuss their proposals with the Department early in the project to ensure that their project is eligible for grant assistance. Consultation will form part of the assessment of every application. Please contact the Department for advice and specific assistance in completing your application. 

Department of Parks and Wildlife estates

If your project includes trail signage on a Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW) estate please consult with the DPaW Interpretation, Marketing and eMedia Unit who will advise on requirements to comply with DPaW sign system standards.
