Lotterywest Trails Grants Scheme

The Department and Lotterywest partner to deliver the Trails Grants Scheme to assist in developing trails in Western Australia.

Grants are open throughout the year.

Grant categories

(trail maintenance is not eligible under this scheme) 

  • Trail planning
  • Trail construction
  • Upgrades to existing trails
  • Promotion and resources

Grant amounts

  • Small grants $1–$25,000
  • Large grants $25,001–$100,000 maximum       

Snapshot

Applications of more than $25,000 generally require a contribution from applicants and/or other sources.

Consultation

Applicants are required to discuss their proposals with the Department early in the project to ensure that their project is eligible for grant assistance. Consultation will form part of the assessment of every application. Please contact the Department for advice and specific assistance in completing your application. 

Department of Parks and Wildlife estates

If your project includes trail signage on a Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW) estate please consult with the DPaW Interpretation Unit who will advise on design standards and costs for signage.
