Free skateboarding workshops roll into WA
YMCA HQ, with the support of the Department of Sport and Recreation, is hosting 17 Streetwise skateboarding clinics across Western Australia in 2010.
04 August 2010
The aim of this program is to increase participation rates in the sport of skateboarding and provide opportunities for existing skaters to hone their skills.
A list of upcoming workshops is available on the YMCA HQ website at www.hq.org.au.
Each workshop includes three separate lessons, two targeted at beginners and one at intermediate level skaters. Each lesson goes for two hours and is led by two accredited skateboarding coaches who are also professional riders for skate brand GMTA.
The workshops are suitable for boys and girls aged between 6 and 16. Even those that have never stepped on a skateboard are encouraged to come along. A helmet and skateboard can even be borrowed if necessary.
Positions in each workshop are limited and registration is essential. Registration forms can also be found on the YMCA HQ website.
Any questions relating to this workshop program contact Gemma Richman, Skate Participation Coordinator at YMCA HQ on (08) 9328 3221 or gemma.richman@ymca.org.au.
