Excitement of Perth 2011 to be broadcast live
Network Ten has secured the exclusive Australian broadcast rights to the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Sailing World Championships in Perth this December.
18 April 2011
The broadcast will include 30 hours of coverage featuring live racing on Network Ten as well as daily highlight packages of the action on and off the shore.
Perth2011 Event Director John Longley described the agreement with Network Ten as a huge boost to the sport of sailing in Australia. “With the live coverage planned by Network Ten, sports lovers around the country will have the opportunity to follow the excitement of live sailing, the fortunes of individual Australian and international athletes and to see and feel the buzz that this event is bringing to Perth,”he said.
The latest technology advances will bring a new and exciting edge to Network Ten’s live coverage. Electronic positioning graphically plots the boats progress around the course and on deck cameras will provide viewers with a crew’s eye view.
Executive Director of Eventscorp, David van Ooran, said the announcement was an exciting outcome for the state as it will showcase Western Australia as an extraordinary sailing destination to a national audience.
