Ern Halliday offers a wide range of accommodation, catering for all types of groups and budgets.
Commodore dormitories
Commodore dormitories: 138 bed maximum
The Commodore Dormitory area is the largest accommodation area within Ern Halliday Camp. Consisting of six identical bunk houses, the Commodore area can sleep up to 138 people, with 23 beds in each bunk house. There are separate bathroom and shower facilities in each bunk house, and two of the bunk houses incorporate toilets and showers with wheelchair access.
Commodore leaders' cottage
Commodore leaders' cottage: 8 bed maximum
Overlooking the Morup Recreation Oval, the leaders' accommodation is a wonderful retreat at Ern Halliday. The leaders' accommodation consists of two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, one common lounge room, and undercover decking.
Port and Starboard dormitories
Port and Starboard dormitories: 56 beds (28 beds per dorm)
The newest accommodation area at Ern Halliday Camp is our Port and Starboard Dormitory area. Built in 2006, this facility consists of two identical dormitories: the Port Dormitory and the Starboard Dormitory with a total of four bunk rooms and two smaller leaders' rooms. There is also a small grassed oval adjacent to the dormitory block.
Spinnaker dormitory
Spinnaker dormitory: 50 beds
The Spinnaker area was the first to be formally developed onsite, originally for the purposes of tent camping only. Since the mid-1970s, when the first buildings were constructed, the facilities have increased to include a dorm block, self-contained modern kitchen and multipurpose dining room.
Spinnaker tent area
Spinnaker tent area: 120 people
Camping at the Spinnaker tent area remains extremely popular, even after nearly four decades to similar use.
Windmill tent area
Windmill tent area: 50 people
The Windmill tent area provides a basic level of amenity for a self-reliant style of camping. Gas barbecues, a large fridge and undercover area with tables and chairs are all included. Toilets and warm showers are conveniently located nearby.
Windmill picnic area
Windmill picnic area: 100 people
The Windmill picnic area is in a secluded part of the camp with extensive lawn and plenty of shady trees.
