The Commodore Dormitory area is the largest accommodation area within Ern Halliday Camp. Consisting of six identical bunk houses, the Commodore area can sleep up to 138 people, with 23 beds in each bunk house. There are separate bathroom and shower facilities in each bunk house, and two of the bunk houses incorporate toilets and showers with wheelchair access.
The bunk houses overlook the Morup Recreation Oval and are all located within metres of each other. Each bunk house sleeps 18 on the lower level in bunk beds, and five on a mezzanine level, in two bunks and a single bed. Each bunk house has two toilets and two showers. There is a minimum stay of two nights for all bookings of this area.
The Commodore area also includes the largest dining and meeting facility at the camp, located near the bunk houses. This dining room is the meeting point for the Commodore group and has enough tables and chairs for 200 people. Catered meals are served at this venue, and guests have access to a standard-sized fridge. There is also a boiling-water dispenser for coffee and tea (BYO) and a water chiller. The dining room has a large wall-mounted whiteboard at each end of the room, and is equipped with a TV with VCR/DVD player, and a pull-down projector screen. Self-catering is not permitted.
