Promotion should be an essential part of any club’s overall strategy.
No matter what you call it (marketing, promotion or communication) being actively engaged with your target audiences can bring substantial benefits, including attracting and retaining members, gaining sponsorship and creating community goodwill and understanding.
Essentially, it gets down to: “what you want to say, who you need to tell and how you tell them”.
There’s a range of simple measure you can take to get your message out and about, with the department providing two booklets: one on marketing and promotion and the other on sponsorship, plus access to a free web site and sample documents.
