Building better communities through improved facilities

“The CSRFF is an annual investment by the State Government towards the development of sustainable, good quality, well-designed and well-utilised facilities in which people can enjoy sport and recreation,” Mr Waldron said.

“The State Government is committed to supporting the development of basic infrastructure to increase participation in sport and recreation because we know and recognise its value to communities.”

The CSRFF is administered by the Department of Sport and Recreation and provides funds for community sport and recreation infrastructure such as clubrooms, tennis courts, swimming pool improvements and lighting.

The Minister said the funding for facilities was also an investment in the quality of life of all West Australians.

“Sport and recreation facilities are often the hub of our communities and that’s why it’s vital for the State Government to continue to invest in a program that delivers such high health and social dividends,” he said.

“These funds will help to ensure that grass roots sport and recreation organisations can provide the context for communities to be active, and also provide a boost to local trades people who will build the new and improved infrastructure.”
