Brother, can you spare a dart?
Two WA brothers will spearhead Australia’s challenge at major darts contests in Japan in November.

Beau and Kyle Anderson will contest the World Darts Federation’s Asia Pacific Cup, and Japan Open.
They bring with them 34 years of experience in the sport, including winning national and world titles.
Dragged along as youngsters to watch their dad plays darts, the brothers took up the sport as a matter of course.
“It’s become a tradition in our family,” said Kyle, who has been playing for 13 years.
“Dad represented WA, and we always enjoyed watching and travelling all over, so we just progressed from there.”
The brothers play for the Mandurah Darts Association two nights a week. Apart from that, there is no other training involved.
“Some players do additional training, but I just don’t see it necessary in a sport like this, where mental focus is the main factor,” Kyle said.
Even thought the Andersons are travelling overseas, and have received funding from the Department to offset travel costs, they are still finding it tough in an amateur sport which gets little publicity; particularly in WA.
“There’s not many people who play darts, and there’s a perception that it’s a pub sport,” Kyle said.
“But that’s just not so. They ban alcohol and chewing gum when you’re on stage.”
The brothers are hoping for success in Japan, which will give them confidence going into next year’s world championships in Ireland.
