Broome Sports Awards 2009
Young master of motorsport Kodee Brown has shown no signs of veering off his path to success, taking out the Sports Star of the Year Award at the Broome Sports Association's Broome Sports Awards 2009.
17 December 2009
The awards, held at Broome's Oaks Resort on 20 November 2009, attracted 120 people from a range of sports and was the first event of its kind for Broome in 13 years.
The 50 nominations on the night made for hotly contested awards in all seven categories, and the event was also a great opportunity for the local sporting community to come together and recognise and celebrate the achievements of the individual sportspeople, clubs and volunteers.
Broome Club Development Officer Mike Doyle hailed the event a resounding success.
"There is no doubt this event is here to stay, with sponsors already coming forward for next year," Mr Doyle said.
"The Broome Sports Awards show what can happen when the sporting community comes together."
The award recipients were:
Sports Star of the Year
