Advanced Officiating General Principles Course
This program is aimed at officials who are typically operating at regional or state level competitions. This particular Advanced Officiating Course has been extended to include topics that are relevant to today's officials, with guest speakers in attendance.
The Officiating General Principles course is offered in two courses, the Introductory and Advanced level. These courses need to be completed in conjunction with each sport's sport-specific course to gain accreditation in that sport.
The Officiating Courses equip the official with appropriate general principles skills and the confidence to officiate at the introductory level of sport. The Advanced course provides the official an opportunity to improve these skills and assist with completion of their sport specific courses.
In partnership with Central TAFE, the Department of Sport and Recreation delivers the Officiating General Principles Courses regularly throughout the year at a subsidised cost which includes the relevant resource manual.
Advanced General Principles Course
The Advanced Level Officiating General Principles Course is aimed at officials who are typically operating at regional or State level competitions.
The course consists of the following modules:
- Advanced Self Management
- Advanced Managing the Competition Environment
- Advanced People Management
At the completion of this training program, the official will be able to:
- Improve own officiating skills, including mental skill requirements;
- Carry out administrative, reporting and tribunal requirements;
- Plan for the risks of officiating in competition;
- Work with a wide range of people to enhance on and off field relationships;
- Utilise leadership and negotiation skills.
The Australian Sports Commission Assessor Training Program is designed to assist assessors improve their skills in planning the assessment process, assessing competence, developing assessment tools and reviewing and validating assessment.
A child protection workshop for clubs.
The program covers the interpersonal skills required for mentors and the planning and processes of mentoring.
A course aimed at coaches who have moved beyond the beginner level of coaching and who want to improve their skills and knowledge to improve athlete performance.
