The session will run from 1.00pm to 2.30pm, is open to the general public and recognises a demand from the community for opportunities to learn the sport.

“The community requested we deliver some coaching sessions in golf and we’re really lucky that Anne is keen to give us some of the time she spends up here over the summer,” program coordinator Keno Phillips said.

Supported by the Department of Sport and Recreation, Gascoyne and Pilbara, the Golf Development Program will also include coaching TAFE pathway students and conducting training clinics and consultations with golf clubs in the regions.

People of any level or age are able to come along and have a taste of golf, hopefully if they enjoy the sport they will take it up long term,” Mr Phillips said.

“This is about exposing people to a range of sports and developing coaching skills to ensure we can sustain golf in the region and increase community physical activity.

“Golf is the kind of sport anyone can enjoy, so I encourage anyone who has a niggle to try it to get out there and give golf a go.”
