Congratulations to the following cricketers who were selected in the 2007 Imparja Cup Squad to represent the WA Indigenous team in the national championship played in February in Alice Springs:

WA finished third in the competition, which featured eight teams At the end of the qualifying rounds, WA finished on equal points with Queensland and New South Wales, but missed out on a place in the final because of a lesser run rate.
Individual achievements
Three players were named in the competition’s Honour Squad. They were Gerard Ugle (Beverley), Kerin Ugle (Peel) and Tim Dann (Tuart Hill).
Two players were named in the National Development Squad, comprising young players, generally Under-23. They attend the Centre of Excellence for a week and possibly play a couple of matches. The players were Jamie
Bennell (aged 16) from Bunbury and Wayne Norman (18), who is now playing with the Perth District Cricket Club. Coach Troy Collard was named Coach of the National Development Squad.
