Home run for tee-ball in Carnarvon
With a newly-proposed tee-ball season approaching in Carnarvon, local Indigenous Sports Development Officer (ISDO) Keno Phillips recently initiated a Level 0 Coaching Course for the sport.

The aim of the course was to provide basic skills on coaching in preparation for the coming season, which would see tee-ball re-established in the region.
According to Keno, a tee-ball competition has not taken place in Carnarvon for more than six years, however it is anticipated that with the newly skilled coaches the game will attract large numbers come February 2010.
Keno said the priority was to concentrate on the up-skilling of coaches, umpires and officials at grassroots level to ensure the sport would be around in the region for many years to come.
“Thanks to Skywest Airlines’ partnership with DSR, the coaching course was conducted by Tee-Ball WA Chief Coach Peter McCormack who did a magnificent job, and it was also great to see DSR Gascoyne Manager Salvatore Siciliano and Administrative Assistant Patricia Ouellette doing the course themselves,” Mr Phillips said.
