Your CSRFF questions answered
Community forums will be held in the Gascoyne region – Exmouth, Shark Bay and Carnarvon – in July 2009 to explain changes to the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) for 2010/11 and to answer any questions you may have.
30 June 2009
As you may be aware, the Department of Sport and Recreation's (DSR) 2010/11 Community Sport and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) opens in July, and this year there have been a number of changes made to the program.These include:
• an increase of the available funds from $9 million per year to $20 million per year;
• introduction of a development bonus, allowing up to 50% funding of the total project cost for projects that meet certain criteria (previously one third funding);
• introduction of two small grant rounds per year, for grants with a project cost of under $150,000, allowing quicker release of funds; and
• quarantining of a portion of the available funds for sustainability initiatives and non-metropolitan pool upgrades.
The changes have opened up opportunities previously inaccessible to small to medium-sized organisations, and incentives have been introduced to encourage shared facilities and sustainability.
The new CSRFF for 2010/11 is more accessible for organisations and projects of all levels.
In light of these changes and with the opening of the 2010/11 funding round, DSR Gascoyne is partnering with local governments to host a forum designed to address relevant staff, sporting clubs and organisations on the changes to the program, timelines, the process for CSRFF, and to answer any questions you may have.
The information session will be presented by DSR Coordinator Infrastructure Projects Clayton White, Director Facilities and Camps Rob Didcoe and Manager Gascoyne Office Salvatore Siciliano.
