The workplace committee
The workplace committee will help to ease the load of the workplace champion.
The committee should consist of range of employees with
differing areas of expertise and knowledge. Depending on the size of
the organisation, three to 10 members is a manageable size.
The committee can assist in developing the workplace health program, organise specific events and activities, provide leadership and act as a point of contact for other employees.
The size of the organisation will determine the levels of committees and leadership groups needed.
The management group
The management group should demonstrate their commitment to the program. The management group's role is to be actively involved in the program by promoting the program, participating where possible and allowing employees to participate.
Possible representatives:
- Senior management
- Middle management
- Front line management
- Other senior staff members
Leadership committee
The leadership committee should be representative of difference interest groups within the organisation. They should be charged with the responsibility of program planning and policy development.
Possible representatives:
- Health and wellbeing coordinator
- Occupational Health and Safety representative
- Representative from HR
- Representative from finance
Implementation group
The implementation committee are the key drivers of the program. They are the champions that drive the health and wellbeing program. The group must provide the energy and motivation keep up the momentum of the program. Program administration and coordination could be done by this group. The implementation group will promote the benefits of the program and convince employees to participate in the program.
Possible representatives:
- Health and wellbeing coordinator
- Representative from different sections of the organisation
- Representatives from different age groups across the agency
- Enthusiastic individuals
