Review of workplace health and physical activity programs
Researchers from The School of Human Movement and Exercise Science at The University of Western Australia were engaged to review Workplace Health and Physical Activity (WHPA) programs and report the findings to the Department of Sport and Recreation.
The aim of the Review was to provide baseline and background information to support the development of a range of strategies to promote and facilitate the take-up of WHPA programs in Western Australian workplaces (small to large organisations, both non-government/commercial and government). The Review focussed on the organisational commitment (including policy, strategic, structural and management factors) to establish a better understanding of the characteristics of successful WHPA programs. The findings of this Review will support the development and implementation of the Premier’s Physical Activity Taskforce proposed Workplace Healthy Lifestyles Initiative.
