Allan Golledge ATLAS had to hold off on the full-time delivery of programs for much of last year while waiting for funds to arrive from a successful 2007 grant application.

However the long hiatus is finally over with the appointment of new ATLAS CEO Allan Golledge.

Allan has vast experience in working with people with disabilities and people with mental health issues and is set to take ATLAS from strentgth to strength.

"ATLAS is a great organisation, but it's time for bit of renovation and a new paint job. I'm excited to move ATLAS forward so that it has a bright future and continues to create a more inclusive community in Geraldton," Allan said.

"I've worked in a variety of community service sectors across regional WA such as youth work, accommodation and mental health. I've spent the last few years in service development and operations management roles setting up new agencies or programs."

One of Allan's first tasks is to employ a number of Project Officers who will take charge of a variety of ATLAS programs.

"It's a very exciting time for ATLAS as we look at the things that are working and what we need to adapt in order to provide better support for people with disabilities to become active, positive members of the sport and recreation community," Allan said.

"ATLAS is not only about getting people with disabilities into sport and recreation communities in meaningful and inclusive ways but to educate the community in disability awareness and community inclusiveness.

"The Leisure Buddy program, transition program and the popular SpinOut Wheelchair Sports program are great initiatives and we look forward to taking them with even more success to the sport and recreation community."
