Project Objective and Scope 

Objective

  • To determine the most appropriate and sustainable facility option and plan for it’s eventual development, or, in the case of an existing stadium appropriate redevelopment

Scope – Stage 1

  • Project initiation
    • "Vision” workshop with Task Force and key stakeholders
    • Development of site evaluation framework
    • Confirmation of building audit of existing venues
    • Preliminary site inspections
  • Benchmark research and stakeholder consultation
    • Comparative research and analysis
    • Stakeholder consultations and “Design” workshop with stakeholders
    • Town planning issues and
    • Land valuations
  • Site analysis and concept evaluation
    • Detailed site research and analysis
    • Development of site options and stadium footprint
    • Indicative financial analysis
    • Taskforce Workshop to discuss/review options
  • Report and Presentation

Desired Outcomes 

Outcomes

Determination of the most appropriate and sustainable facility option(s):

  • To meet the long-term needs (30 years) of AFL and Cricket as well as Rugby and Soccer
  • Which is (are) of equal / better standard and capacity to other national stadiums so as to enable Perth to compete for major national and international events (e.g. Bledisloe Cup etc.)
  • With a range of facilities and services to meet the current and future needs of club members, corporates and the general public, and
  • Of iconic status which is (are) nationally/internationally recognised as an outstanding sporting arena(s) and engenders local pride and enthusiasm
