Town of Port Hedland – Physical Activity Week
Physical Activity Week will be held on 28 March–4 April 2009.

Included in
the Physical Activity Week celebrations will be a Have-A-Go Day at Kevin Scott
Oval on Saturday 4 April, an Active Schools Breakfast on Wednesday 1 April, and
a Dodgeball Tournament on Friday 3 April.
Islanders dancing
lessons (hula), a Hedland Walk, a Sporting Clubs Seminar Evening and an open
day at the aquatic centres are also being planned.
The
Department of Sport and Recreation is part funding the Active Schools Breakfast
and Sporting Clubs Seminar Evening.
The Town of
Port Hedland will hold a Presidents Evening on Tuesday 17 March, a Primary School
Disco on Friday 27 March and a Walk it Hedland Corporate Challenge, which will
start soon.
Nominations
are now open for the challenge, and all business and community groups are
encouraged to get involved.
The challenge will be held on 9 February 2009-13 March 2009 and teams will compete to complete the most physical activity.
The challenge
is FREE to enter and there will be a number of prizes and giveaways!
