Helen - Admin Guru
When Helen joined DSR she expected it to be fun, but what she didn’t necessarily expect was that she would gain a second family.
“DSR sounded like a fun place to work, and I was right,” Helen said. “I love the people I work with, we’re like one big family. We support each other in times of need. We care for each other.”
Helen was an Administration Officer/Project Officer for the department and had been with the team for 20 years.
In this time she had been involved in countless projects and had enjoyed many rewarding experiences, including joining in physical activities arranged within the department.
“My best experience was 10 years ago when I was part of a DSR team of eight people who walked 100 km of the Bibbulmun Track,” she said. “We all formed a terrific bond during all of the training leading up to the event and thereafter.”
Helen also loved hearing about new sport and recreation policies and directions and being given the opportunity to attend internal and external courses and seminars for professional development. Her goal was to give each task she is presented with her best shot.
