The Department of Sport and Recreation and the City of Bunbury believe sports at all levels could benefit from an objective view of trends that will affect the future of their sport, and are jointly proposing a "Future of Your Sport" full day seminar to be held at the Eaton Recreation Centre on Sunday 15 March 2009.

The purpose of the seminar is to address "future trends" and how they may be addressed and planned for by clubs.

The seminar will be targetting all sporting clubs, associations and regional sporting groups in country regions south of Perth and will include specific streams for coaches, officials and administrators.

DSR Regional Officer South West Dale Nielsen and Club Development Officer City of Bunbury Callan Hatchman are working together on this project, having already confirmed the availability of key note speaker, Simon Bowen and workshop facilitator Ian Crawford.

It is proposed that the program will also include presentations from South West Academy of Sport CEO Bernice Butlion and Jo Davies from the Australian Sports Commission. Successful clubs and programs already running in country regions will be showcased during the seminar.
