A website on the redevelopment, www.akreserve.com.au, was recently launched and includes details including construction progress, project history, timelines, benefits of the new facilities, frequently asked questions (FAQ), media information and contacts.

Due for completion in 2009, the project, along with nearby facilities at Challenge Stadium and UWA Sports Park (McGillivray Oval), will create a sporting precinct which provides for all levels of sport — from community level to major national events.

The new stadiums replace the ageing facilities at Perry Lakes and ensure that Western Australians have access to high-quality sporting facilities.

The project is being delivered in partnership by the Department of Sport and Recreation and the Department of Housing and Works.
